1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) describes how Taygun Timocin (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, stores, discloses, and otherwise processes personal information in connection with the mobile application Bible Chat - Inner Peace (the “App”) and any related websites or support pages at github.com/ttimocin/bible-chat-inner-peace-web (collectively, the “Services”).

This Policy forms part of our Terms & Conditions. By using the Services, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Policy.

The Services are primarily offered to users in the United States, Mexico, and Brazil. We are established in Germany; GDPR and other laws may still apply where required.

Important: Bible Chat - Inner Peace is provided for private spiritual reflection and devotional use only. It does not provide medical, psychological, legal, or pastoral counselling. If you are in crisis or need professional help, please contact local emergency or crisis services (see Section 16).

“Personal information” (or “personal data”) means information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person, as defined under applicable law, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the UK GDPR, Brazil’s Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados (LGPD), Mexico’s Ley Federal de Protección de Datos Personales en Posesión de los Particulares (LFPDPPP), and U.S. state privacy laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the CPRA.

3. Personal Information We Collect

We collect only the personal information reasonably necessary to operate the Services. The categories below depend on how you use the App.

Account and technical data Identifiers and technical information needed to run the App securely. Anonymous user ID (UUID), device type, operating system, app version, language/locale preference, crash or diagnostic logs (if enabled by your device/OS).
Optional profile data Information you voluntarily provide to personalize responses. Stored locally on your device unless otherwise stated. Age range, denomination, church or community name, email (if you choose to enter it).
Chat inputs Messages and prompts you send to the AI companion for response generation. Text you type in chat, selected emotion or topic context. Transmitted to our AI processor; not maintained by us as a permanent server-side chat archive.
Local-only data Conversation history stored exclusively on your device. Chat history, preferences, onboarding choices. You may delete this at any time in App settings.
Subscription and payment metadata Information related to Bible Chat Plus purchases. We do not receive or store full payment card numbers. Subscription status, product identifiers, transaction IDs processed by Apple App Store, Google Play, or RevenueCat.
Support communications Information you send when contacting us. Your email address, message content, and any attachments you provide.
OAuth identifiers (optional) If you choose to link a Google or Apple account when this feature is available. Account provider user ID, email address associated with the provider account (as permitted by the provider).

We do not intentionally collect precise geolocation, government ID numbers, or payment card numbers through the App itself. We do not use the App to build advertising profiles or sell your personal information.

4. Purposes and Legal Bases

We process personal information for the following purposes:

Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time by contacting us or adjusting in-App settings, without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal. Where consent is required and you withdraw it, certain features may no longer be available.

5. Sensitive and Religious Data

Optional profile fields (such as denomination, church affiliation, and age range) and the content of your spiritual reflections may reveal religious beliefs or other sensitive information under applicable law.

We process such data only when you voluntarily provide it and, where required by law, based on your explicit consent given during onboarding or in App settings. You are not required to provide this information to use basic App features.

You may delete optional profile data and local chat history at any time through the App. To withdraw consent for optional processing, contact us at taytekofficial@gmail.com.

6. AI Processing and Retention

The App uses Microsoft Azure OpenAI to generate AI responses. When you send a message, your input (and relevant context such as selected emotion or optional profile hints) is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) to generate a response.

  • Server-side chat archive: We do not operate a permanent, user-accessible chat history database on our servers. Conversation history is stored locally on your device unless you delete it.
  • AI processor retention: We configure our AI processing to minimize retention of conversation content on processor systems (zero-retention or short-lived processing, subject to Microsoft’s applicable service terms and technical capabilities). Microsoft acts as a data processor on our behalf under appropriate data protection terms.
  • Accuracy: AI-generated responses may be incomplete, inaccurate, or inappropriate. We do not guarantee theological, factual, or pastoral accuracy of outputs.

Bible text displayed in the App uses the Almeida translation (Portuguese). AI reflections may reference these verses; we do not translate or replace the underlying Bible text through this Policy.

7. Sharing with Third Parties

We may share personal information with the following categories of recipients:

We do not sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

8. International Transfers

We are based in Germany. Your information may be processed in Germany, the European Economic Area (EEA), the United States, and other countries where our service providers operate.

When transferring personal data internationally, we use appropriate safeguards, including:

  • Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission, where applicable;
  • Processor agreements requiring equivalent protection;
  • Your consent, where required and appropriate;
  • Compliance with LGPD and LFPDPPP requirements for cross-border transfers to countries without adequate protection, including contractual clauses and your informed consent where mandated.

9. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit for data sent to our processors. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

Because chat history is stored on your device, you are responsible for securing your device (passcode, biometrics, not sharing the device with unauthorized persons). If you lose your device or it is compromised, local App data may be accessible to others with access to the device.

10. Retention

  • Local chat history and profile data: Retained on your device until you delete it or uninstall the App.
  • Anonymous UUID / auth data: Retained while you use the App and as needed for security; deleted or anonymized when no longer necessary.
  • AI processing: Not retained by us as a long-term server-side chat log; processor retention is minimized per Section 6.
  • Support emails: Retained as long as needed to resolve your request and comply with legal obligations (typically up to 3 years unless a longer period is required).
  • Subscription records: Retained as required by tax, accounting, and consumer laws.

We may retain certain information longer when required by law, to resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, or protect our legal rights.

11. Children

The Services are intended for users aged 16 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16 without appropriate parental or guardian consent where required by law.

If you believe a child under 16 has provided personal information without proper consent, please contact us at taytekofficial@gmail.com and we will take reasonable steps to delete such information.

AI-generated content may not be suitable for all ages. Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising minors’ use of the Services where permitted by law.

12. Your Rights — EU/UK (GDPR)

If GDPR or UK GDPR applies to you, you have the following rights, subject to legal limits:

  • Access — obtain confirmation and a copy of your personal data;
  • Rectification — correct inaccurate data (much optional profile data can be edited in the App);
  • Erasure — request deletion; you can delete local chat data in App settings;
  • Restriction — request limited processing in certain circumstances;
  • Data portability — receive data you provided in a structured format where applicable;
  • Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests;
  • Withdraw consent — where processing is consent-based;
  • Complaint — lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

To exercise your rights, email taytekofficial@gmail.com with sufficient detail to identify your request. We respond within one month, extendable where permitted.

In Germany, you may contact your state data protection authority (Landesdatenschutzbeauftragter). A list of EU authorities is available at edpb.europa.eu. In the UK, contact the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

13. Your Rights — Brazil (LGPD)

If you are in Brazil, Lei nº 13.709/2018 (LGPD) may grant you the following rights regarding your personal data, subject to exceptions:

  • Confirmation of processing and access to data;
  • Correction of incomplete, inaccurate, or outdated data;
  • Anonymization, blocking, or deletion of unnecessary or excessive data;
  • Portability to another provider, where applicable;
  • Information about entities with whom we shared data;
  • Revocation of consent, where processing is consent-based;
  • Review of decisions made solely through automated processing, where applicable.

Requests may be sent to taytekofficial@gmail.com. We will respond within reasonable timeframes required by LGPD.

You may also file a complaint with the Autoridade Nacional de Proteção de Dados (ANPD) at gov.br/anpd.

Legal bases under LGPD include consent, contract performance, legitimate interests, and compliance with legal obligations, as described in Section 4.

14. Your Rights — Mexico (LFPDPPP)

If you are in Mexico, the Ley Federal de Protección de Datos Personales en Posesión de los Particulares (LFPDPPP) and its Regulations may grant you ARCO rights:

  • Acceso — know what personal data we hold and how it is used;
  • Rectificación — correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
  • Cancelación — request deletion when data is no longer necessary or consent is withdrawn;
  • Oposición — object to certain processing for specific reasons.

To exercise ARCO rights, send a request to taytekofficial@gmail.com including your name, contact details, a clear description of the request, and copies of documents proving identity where reasonably necessary. We will respond within the timeframes required by Mexican law (typically 20 business days, extendable once).

You may contact the Instituto Nacional de Transparencia, Acceso a la Información y Protección de Datos Personales (INAI) for information about your rights: home.inai.org.mx.

15. Your Rights — United States

Depending on your state of residence, you may have rights under U.S. state privacy laws (including California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, and others). These may include:

  • Right to know what personal information is collected, used, and disclosed;
  • Right to access and obtain a copy of personal information;
  • Right to correct inaccurate personal information;
  • Right to delete personal information, subject to exceptions;
  • Right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising;
  • Right to limit use of sensitive personal information (where applicable);
  • Right to non-discrimination for exercising privacy rights.

We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising as defined under the CCPA/CPRA.

To submit a request, email taytekofficial@gmail.com with “US Privacy Request” in the subject line. We will verify your request and respond within 45 days (extendable once by 45 days where permitted). If we decline a request, we will explain why and provide instructions to appeal by replying to our response.

Authorized agents may submit requests on your behalf where permitted by law, with proof of authorization.

16. Crisis and Health Disclaimer

The App is not a substitute for professional medical, mental health, legal, or pastoral care. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, suicidal thoughts, or any emergency, contact local services immediately:

  • United States: call 911 or the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (call or text 988).
  • Brazil: CVV — Centro de Valorização da Vida: 188 (24/7, free); medical emergency: 192 (SAMU).
  • Mexico: Línea de la Vida: 800 911 2000 (24/7); emergencies: 911.

Do not rely on the App for emergency assistance. We do not monitor messages in real time and cannot dispatch emergency services on your behalf.

17. Do Not Sell or Share

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not use the App to display third-party behavioral advertising based on your activity across other businesses’ websites or apps.

18. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice through the App, by email (if we have your address), or by posting the updated Policy at github.com/ttimocin/bible-chat-inner-peace-web with a new effective date.

Your continued use of the Services after the effective date of an updated Policy constitutes acceptance where permitted by law. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Services and may delete local data through the App.
